The 100%, 6-ply birch shells of the Yamaha Stage Custom overwhelm anything in their class with surpeme sensitivity. A staggered diagonal seam allows Yamaha to build a thin shell that will start round and stay round. The drum hardware features Yamaha's famed YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounts that provide an increased resonance while enabling a greater dynamic range. Mounts are attached to the drums nodal point where shell vibration is least affected. A nylon bushing in the rod clamp increases the drum's stability. Additionally, a standard ball mount and clamp provide flexible and reliable tom placement to get your configuration "just right."
