The GMS Revolution Maple/Brass Snare Drum offers a unique blend of wood and metal sounds. It features an 8-ply maple shell with a thin layer of brass that is sprayed to the inside of the drum shell. The resonant sound of wood combined with the reflective qualities of metal provides a snare drum with extreme flexibility and versatility. The snare's brass interior gives it a little extra cut, without taking away from the woodiness of the drum. The drum also has outstanding sensitivity and reacts to the lightest of taps. Rimshots are nonabrasive and colorful, reminiscent of Bill Stewart's snare sound. When hit in the center, the GMS snare drum retains some overtones, but produces a rounder sound with great snare response. Equipped with GMS's Special Edition lugs and triple-flange hoops. Bearing edges are left uncoated to promote a warmer tone, while the metal coating amplifies attack, projection, brightness, and bite.
