The snare uses wire snare strands made of hard, high-carbon steel. This steel wire strands offer bright, delicate response and make sustained, legato press roles easy to play. It features a special black finish and 2 vent holes for a rich, controlled tone not often associated with a steel shell drum. A 10-lug design allows sensitive tuning, and the smooth and quiet strainer system is vertically adjustable on both sides for precise alignment and tension of snares.
