The head is a 5/8" pure gum rubber ball. It is mounted on a 15" birch shaft with an extra-thick vinyl grip. This mallet was co-developed with Walt Hampton and is perfect for contrabass bars. Use this mallet to play a rhythmically distinct bass line. It's the only mallet of its kind on the market and will sustain years of wear and tear.
